Friday, June 15 - 2018 - Yery fled Cuba with her parents when she was 3. At the time, her father was in law school but his dream was cut short. Imagine how proud he was when she became an attorney.

Thursday, June 14, 2018 - Yery was honored to be present at The Children’s Trust 13th Annual Champions for Children Awards ceremony honoring, among others, Judge Cindy Lederman, with the David Lawrence Jr. Champion for Children Award; dear friend, Miami-Dade Public Defender Carlos J. Martinez, who received the Excellence in Public Policy Award; and Earl Maulding, Director of Theatre for Young Audiences at Actors’ Playhouse, who was honored for Excellence in Direct Service to Children and Families.

 Yery recently went to career day. She had a great time talking to students about their future. She attended public schools (Ponce de Leon Junior High and Coral Gables HS) and graduated from Miami Coral Park.
